A tree erupts from the back of a solitary figure, its branches stretching outward as the body beneath it carries its weight.
Growing Pains explores the discomfort that comes with becoming. Growth is often imagined as something beautiful, but transformation can be heavy, painful and demanding. The tree represents what is developing within us — new strength, understanding and identity — while the figure reflects the burden of carrying that change.
The work suggests that pain and growth are not always opposites. Sometimes the weight we struggle to carry is evidence that something within us is still growing.
